Existence of God

The Borde- Guth- Vilenkin theorem in physical cosmology. According to Alexandra Vilenkin, a professor of Evolutionary science and Director of institute of cosmology at Tufts University, which deduce that any universe that has on average been expanding throughout  history cannot be infinite. In the past, it must have past space-time boundaries. The implication of this theorem is that the universe is not eternal, it began at a point before physical time began and that the universe has not always existed and that the universe cannot be infinite which means it is not forever, it will come to an end one day. If the universe is not eternal, that means it was created. This theorem disannulled and disproved the Big Bang theory about creation. The question is no longer about  how the creation comes about? It is about  who created the universe? Firstly  must be transcendent, according to Oxford dictionary of current English it means, going beyond normal or physical human...

God is timeless and not bound by time

Some pastors teach that God is God of now now, they quote scriptures like the expectations of the righteous man can not be cut shot. The question is, what is the expectation of the righteous man? Food, clothing, what exactly is the righteous man expecting? We have been so deceived to believe that God is moved by our prayers, praise, and other religious activities to do things or go out of His way for such people. Some say that if God didn't answer your prayers, praise Him more, and His head will swell up such that  your praise will move Him to do your biddings. God is not mocked, and He is not a man that you can psyche or be influenced by your religious activities. We experience things through our physical senses. Our eyes capture the light reflected from physical objects. Our ears pick up the vibrations from sound waves. Our fingertips gauge the texture and hardness of the things we touch. We live in a physical world which is bound by space and time, but God, however, dwells in a ...

Our choices

God’s hands are opened so wide for us to embrace in salvation, which is why the word "RECKLESS" was used to describe His love to humanity.    He is sovereign, and He is the creator, but does not mean He controls our affairs, He gave us freewill ability to make our own choices. Some choices we make have  blinded us from seeing God’s essence in our existence. God’s foreknowledge means He knows everything that will happen now, tomorrow and ever, but note He does not control our choices.  The scriptures describe how God knows us even right Jeremiah1:5 “Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you, before you were born, I set you apart, and I appointed you as a prophet to the nations”.  Luke12:7 “even the hairs of your head are all numbered”.  God did not create a robotic man with artificial intelligence. The man God created has a freewill and can make choices. This was responsible for Eve’s decision. If God has control over our choices, that means we do not ...

Does God control everything

God is sovereign in all things, He created heaven and earth, He made all things, He knows all things, He is the Supreme God and the source of all power and authority. He is the Alpha and Omega. Religion has resulted in the invention of a new meaning for the word "sovereign," which basically means God controls everything. The way sovereignty" is taught today is a real faith killer, unfortunately this is the doctrine that is being preached in some of our churches. There is absolutely nothing that happened in the universe that God does not know about, as the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords, He has no limitations. God is sovereign but He does not applaud all things that happen, reason may not be apparent to you but He certainly permits them and work out something good. God works not just some things, but all things according to the counsel of His own will, Eph1:11.All things work together for our good does not mean that God is behind the bad situation but God does permi...

Sovereignty of God in our salvation Does one's mind just respond to salvation after hearing the message? What causes Conviction in the mind of a sinner? Can he just get born-again of his own accord? Who is the agent responsible for conviction in one's mind? Salvation is strictly God's affair, Romans9.

God's sovereignty in our salvation God's sovereignty in salvation means that He saves whom He will, and those whom He saves owe nothing to anything in or of themselves. We are saved because God graciously chose to save us out of His own will. We cannot even take credit for that because it is the gift that He Himself sovereignly bestows. Psalm 115:3 “Our God is in heaven; he does whatever pleases him”. (NIV) Romans 9:20 “But who are you, a human being, to talk back to God? Shall what is formed say to the one who formed it, 'Why did you make me like this?”(NIV) Part of God's sovereignty is that despite our unworthiness, he chooses to love and save us anyway. He gives everyone the freedom to accept or reject His love. The average preacher man’s pulpit conveys the impression that it lies wholly in the power of the sinner whether or not he shall be saved. It is said that "God has done His part, now man must do his”. Come to think of it, what can a lif...

Sovereignty of God The Sovereignty of God is the biblical teaching that all things are under God's rule and control, and that nothing happens without His direction or permission. God works not just some things but all things according to the counsel of His own will Eph. 1:11. His purposes are all-inclusive and never thwarted Isa. 46:11; nothing takes Him by surprise. The sovereignty of God is not merely that God has the power and right to govern all things, but that He does so, always and without exception. In other words, God is not merely sovereign in principle, but sovereign in practice. Sovereignty of God is the supremacy of God, the kingship of God, the god-hood of God. To say that God is Sovereign is to declare that God is God. To say that God is Sovereign is to declare that He is the Most High, doing according to His will. To say that God is Sovereign is to declare that He is the Almighty, the Possessor of all power in Heaven and earth, so that none can defeat His counsels...

During a counseling session with a man, he said that there is no need for his wife to know about his past; moreover he has a child from another woman. Response When you are married, you ceased from being two flesh, two minds, but one flesh and one mind. It is evil if you have such secret and you did not tell your wife, as much as it is hurtful you will hurt yourself the more if you do not tell her, only if you are not a Christian. It is advantageous to discuss it so that you can free your mind from the guilt of your past. There is a Yoruba adage “You do not hide from the person that will bury you”. She is your wife, you are not meant to keep things from her. You do not expect her not to be angry because you have taken a long time to tell her such trivial matter. You do not have a choice now than to tell her, whatever the response. Do not forget that she may have her own fears which may include the position her own children in the family, all she has worked for, properties...

We both married as unbelievers, now I’m converted to Christianity, my husband is hardened and adamant, he comes home drunk, he has broken bottle on me several times and he has defiled the matrimonial bed. What should I do? Response The heart of the king is owned by God, so the heart of every man is also owned by Him, the Bible says “there is nothing impossible for God to do”. Talk to God about him and your desires, what you want God to do in the situation. God will heal him and also buy back time for him, if you sincerely pray. Now that you know Christ, behold all things are new, you stopped sharing same life, interest and desire, you left him to his life of unbelief and sin. Now you have become a stranger to what both of you  used to like and probably enjoy. You need to understand that he does not have what it takes to change on his own or by his effort, because the devil is the master and also controls the affairs of the unbeliever, he may not see wrong in w...

Why Should I Save Sex For Marriage? When God creates something, He creates it with purpose and plan. The Genesis account of creation makes it clear that God’s creation is good Genesis 1:31. But mankind has a history of distorting what God has made, whether out of ignorance or just plain stubbornness. Sex was God’s idea, God created it. And therefore it is reasonable to expect that it is good. But when man distorts it by ignoring God’s specific standard, it’s becomes harmful and destructive to man. “Why save sex for marriage?” is really a question of understanding God’s way, and experiencing the beauty of His plan, but we can choose to do things our way and experience harm and destruction Proverb 16:25.  Why sex? Was it in in plan of God? God wants us to develop intimacy, procreation. When God told Adam and Eve to “be fruitful and multiply” Genesis 1:28, they probably figured out that He wanted them to have sex, because that ...

When sex is dirty Lusts are destructive to man’s soul. Galatians 5:19, “now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these, adultery fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness”. Don’t give yourself up to the indulgence of sensual appetite, or to the soft pleasures of the soul.  Bible encourages us not to be conformed to this world, but we should be transformed by the renewing of our minds and also to set aside every weight that easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, Rom12:2, Heb12:1. Lev. 18:22 reads, “thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind, it is abominable.23, neither shalt thou lie with the beast to defile thyself therewith, neither shall any woman stand before a beast to lie down thereto. Jude 1:7, “Even as Sodom and Gomorrah and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengean...

There are so many others facing different and unique issues in their marriages. My advice to you either a man or a woman is that, when the issues are going out of hand and it seems you cannot go on in your marriage again, then you will need the intervention of friends, family and the church. Whoever you consider to help you should be someone you can trust for right support, and for you, what should be paramount is your well-being, how to take care of yourself. You love your spouse, but what is the reality on ground? There are problems you cannot handle and they are frustrating your marriage. Do not tell me that you are holding on and that you are expecting a change, what if there is no change? He is still doing those same things, how long can you wait for him hoping for a change? Have you thought about the effect of what can happen to you if he does not change? He keeps beating you, still drinks, fornicates and he is still all the nots, what effect will all these have on your health,...

Love is the purification of the heart from self. It strengthens and enables the character, gives a higher motive and worthier aim to every action of life, and makes both man and woman courageous. To love abundantly is to live abundantly and to love forever is to live forever. There is no such thing as a perfect relationship. However, a couple greatly increases their chances of having a good relationship if they both: Believe in God Have same religion and accept each other’s doctrines  Have good self esteem Have important values and interests in common  Have well-developed personalities Communicate honestly and effectively Have compatible levels of sexual desire Have positive body image Agree on appropriate gender roles Agree on the sexual activities you want to explore If any of these qualities is missing, developing a healthy, satisfying relationship will be more difficult. If you've ever been in a relationship that involved sexual activity, you know that s...

Marriage is full of expectations. Our parents, families, friends and others want us to reflect or mirror them in our own marriages. When they give advice, they expect us to take to it hundred percent and live by it hundred percent. That your parents or whoever lived in a certain way or seem to get it right in their marriage is not a criteria for you to live your live patterned after them or dedicate your life to living after them. That they are experienced does not make their experience work in your own marriage. Some parents want to dictate the kind of house you will live, the kind of car to drive, how many children you should give birth to, how you should take care of your family and some other basic things in life. Many times, we allow external influence in our marriage, our parents wants us to live or do things in a particular way, when we get our heads full of doing things their way or we are trying to be them or like them, we are going to get ourselves confused and likely miss ...

Married Relationship Relationships, in the form of marriage or cohabitation, become prevalent now. Relationships have a powerful effect on our sexuality. If, for example, we're in a close, respectful, loving relationship, we'll feel and act very differently than if we're in an abusive relationship. Men and women most times enter adulthood with some real misconceptions about sexuality and the role of sex in a relationship. Young men often fear that anything that borders on sensitivity will be interpreted as being somehow ‘unmanly’ and thus represent inappropriate behaviour for a ‘real’ man. Women believe that the only part of intimacy that matters to men is the sexual intercourse part. Apostle Paul does not give a low view of marriage, but is merely answering questions put to him about life in Corinth; He informs them 1Corinthians 7:2 ‘I speak this by permission, not of command, Nevertheless, to avoid fornication, let every man have his own wife, and...

Compatibility in Relationship This is another issue of great consideration. Marriage institutions, Men of God, parents and people in general have a misconception on what and who is compatible for marriage. During counseling sections on marriage relationship, people are advised on compatibility, that the other person involved must be compatible, i.e. must share the same goal, idea, religion, health status, tribe, language, culture, background, behaviour etc. I will not encourage marriage relationship with any one that is not a Christian [born-again], I am relating to Christians and such relationship with unbeliever is not binding. As Christians, we have so many doctrines on how to start a relationship; some are borne out of conviction and others out of tradition of our Church founders?  Colossians 2:8 “Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world and not after Christ”. I have been to s...

A teenager is a young person whose age falls within the range of 13-19, they are called teenagers because their age number ends with teen. The teenage can be described as a transitional age from childhood to adulthood. It is a period when human developmental changes occur psychologically and physically. It can be both disorientation and discovery period when the teen clamours for independence and self-identity. Many teens face tough choices regarding sexuality, school and work, drugs, alcohol and social life. Peer groups, romantic interests and external appearances tend to naturally increase. The physical, biological and psychological changes they experience allow them to think more abstractly. They become interestingly focused on friends and also seek greater independence. They often come into conflicts with their parents, they get through teen age with few problems like, establishing an identity and preparing for adulthood.   Teenagers spend a good deal of time not only on devel...

What is a friend? Aristotle says it is a single soul dwelling in two bodies. They who have lived together have been drawn close, they who have struggled together are forever linked; but they who have suffered together have known the most sacred bond of all. In as much as anyone pushes you nearer to God, he or she is a friend. The strength and sweetness of friendship depend on sincerity tempered by sympathy, since friendship is made by our choice, then it should be chosen by a higher principle of selection than any worldly one. They should be chosen for character, for goodness, for truth and trustworthiness, because they have sympathy with us in our best thoughts and holiest aspirations, because they have community of mind in the things of the soul. Friendship is the positive and unalterable choice of a person whom we have singled out for qualities that we most admire. Friendship is in loving rather than in being loved. It brings comfort and delight to have companions. It is not pos...
